About Monsignor:
Monsignor Gerald E. Gobitas was born in Cressona, Pa. on June 13, 1949. He is the son of the late Edward and Isabel (Zubritsky) Gobitas. Monsignor graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1967. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook, Pa and Master of Divinity and Master of Theology Degrees from the former Mary Immaculate Seminary, Northampton, Pa. He also earned a Master of Science Degree in Education Administration from the University of Scranton.
He was ordained a priest by the late Most Reverend Joseph McShea, first Bishop of Allentown, on May 31, 1975 in the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena, Allentown. He has served in a variety of priestly ministry assignments in the Diocese. He became Pastor of Saint John the Baptist Parish, Whitehall in June, 2018.
